Last year my husband and I joined forces with our good friend and talented designer Jannine Williams in a leather business called Alter Collection. This shoot was a dream. Our original concept of a very minimalist shoot evolved into a rather dramatic one - extravagant and gorgeous - complimented with flowers and the most beautiful fabric (thanks to the team from Hertex).

To launch our partnership, we present to you our passion - ‘The Maker Range’. This is an invitation to you to join in our process and own your leather products in a whole new way. You join the Alter family in the journey by putting your hands and your heart to good use and make something with us that will be yours forever. Recently we’ve also partnered with anti-human trafficking group Hope Risen and there is a sewn up version of The Maker Range available - sewn up by survivors who have been rescued and rehabilitated by this incredible organisation. Part of the proceeds from these sales go to Hope Risen.

Mad Hatters at Blank Bar, Parkhurst

There’s a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at Parkhurst’s Blank Bar - running from the 14th of September to the 28th of October.  

This concept and activation space is set in the heart of bustling 4th  Avenue, Parkhurst, Johannesburg. Through engaging demonstrations, tasting and sharing you can enjoy learning valuable tips from behind the bar that can be replicated at home. This is a regular commission for RockingChair and such fun to shoot!

Celebrating Milestones

Glengarry Farm, Kamberg KZN

What a joy to photograph this place in every season. These are the early Spring 2018 shots for Glengarry Holiday Farm - my family’s favorite place to rest and rejuvenate. The views of the surrounding Kamberg and Giants Castle are majestic and breathtaking. Watch the sun go down from your chalet while you braai and your children play on the lawns in-front of the river. Maternity in Autumn

Lee-Ann is one of my favorite makeup artists to work with. We first worked together eight years ago on a car commercial. I was heavily pregnant with my son. It felt so beautifully full circle to photograph her and her husband just before they're about to welcome their first-born son into the world. We shot amidst the glory of Parktown's autumn trees - all morphing with the turn of the season in yellows and oranges. So lovely. 

Blank Bar, Parkhurst

Last month at Blank - SPIRIT OF RUM, SOUL OF SUGAR CANE. I loved the gorgeous mural on the wall. Loved the tones and colors and had such fun trying my hand at art directing this shoot - laying out bottles and props, lighting cigars and styling rum shots.

Six really good creative and digital marketing minds in Johannesburg, South Africa have joined together to form a new and exciting partnership - The Digital Alliance. It was a treat to shoot this team on a cold and wintery Jozi morning... 

Every Nation Rosebank

I last shot with this dynamic team from Every Nation in winter 2017. It was such fun to be with them again and witness the buzz and activity that happens there on a Sunday as thousands flock from all over Johannesburg to be inspired and encouraged in their faith. 

Blank Bar, Russian Style

When you think of Russia, a few things always come to mind. Amazing Vodka. Fuzzy hats. Chill. Interesting food. Words you can’t pronounce, besides water with a v, and we’ll have that too, with a twist – obviously. Russian style, and now football obviously.
